Margaret Hern is an outpatient therapist at Adrian Counseling & Psychiatric Clinic. She received a bachelor’s degree in Probation Parole and Community Corrections with a minor in Psychology at Siena Heights University and master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling which was obtained at Siena Heights University. Throughout her career, Margaret has worked with children and families in a variety of settings, including juvenile detention center, in-patient psychiatric hospital, and as a homebased therapist. She also works extensively with individuals who have experienced some type of mental illness, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, family therapy and parenting skills, Margaret has received specialized training and practices Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children. Margaret is currently working on her certification with animal-assisted therapy and will be utilizing her therapy dog Hagrid.

At Adrian Counseling & Psychiatric Clinic, Margaret primarily practices individual and family therapy, providing an evidence-based model and working with families who presents with a variety of different identified needs.

When Margaret isn’t working at Adrian Counseling & Psychiatric Clinic, she enjoys training dogs, golfing, gardening, crocheting, and cuddling with her cats Hermione and Binx.
