Hello, I am Dr. Matt Weaver. I received my bachelor’s degree in ministerial / counseling from Hobe Sound Bible College (Florida). I obtained my master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in General Psychology from Grand Canyon University.

My career history includes working within the Michigan Department of Corrections in multiple positions including correction officer, boot-camp drill instructor, case manager, and group counselor. I have also worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Michigan (assisting individuals with disabilities obtain employment and educational assistance).

I am an eclectic / client focused counselor. I primarily utilize the cognitive / behavioral approach, but I seek to provide the needed assistance for clients in a way that best serves their needs and goals. I recognize that often childhood or past negative experiences continue to influence our current struggles and may need to be evaluated for understanding that can be transferred into positive current new changes. My areas of expertise include domestic violence, general violence, anti-social behaviors, anxieties, depression, emotional intelligence, depression, career / educational goals.
